This embroidered hoop textile art is a creative representation of Bast, the Egyptian goddess of protection and cats.  The cat design is inspired by the Gayer-Anderson cat statue, currently on display at the British Museum.

The base is Harris Tweed and felt, embroidered with silks and metallic thread.  The ear and nose rings have been crafted from various thicknesses of gold-plated wire.
